Demi Lovato has given her first live performance of "Warrior," the deeply personal ballad off her most recent album.

The "X Factor" judge chose to sing it first at a charity event called the Dignity Gala in Los Angeles over the weekend, which supports the end of child trafficking.

While promoting her album earlier this year, Demi spoke very little about what inspired the song's lyrics about being "a little girl who grew up too fast."

The 21-year-old has hinted that the song reflects some kind of abuse she went through as a child, which may have contributed to the cutting and eating disorder issues that landed her in rehab in 2010.  She said at the time that only her family members know what the song is really about.

Demi's "Neon Lights" tour is set to kick off in North America in February.
